What are escape rooms?

An escape room is an adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints and strategy to complete the objective at hand. Players are given a set time limit to unveil clues which are hidden within the rooms in order to solve a quest. Rooms are not locked at any time and lights are always on. The themed rooms at our downtown Portsmouth office allow groups to work as a team to complete a specific set of tasks. These are available to company/corporate events during the week (by appointment) and available to others on the weekends by booking online.

Can I pay when I arrive?

Reservations for Monkey Mind Escape Rooms are booked online. Walk-Ins are always welcome but are subject to availability. If you are unsure of how many players will be with you, please book the time/date/room that you want for a minimum of 2 people and then you can arrive with others. You cannot exceed the capacity of the room, and we request that you arrive 15 minutes early so that we can adjust your reservation and take payment.

How much does it cost?

A Monkey Mind Escape Room adventure costs $36 per person. Company/corporate events are quoted based on your specific request. We offer discounts for First Responders, Active Military, Teachers, current UNH Students and others. See our Promotions page for more information.

Is there something my group should do before arriving?

Waivers are available when you arrive. If minors are part of your group and under 18, their legal guardian must fill out a waiver form. You can download our waiver beforehand.

How can I reschedule a booking?

To reschedule your reservation, please call (603) 498-8997 or send an email to info@monkeymindescape.com. We request that you reschedule rather than cancel. Cancellations made within 24 hours of a reservation will not be refunded, but the customer will be issued a credit to use for a future booking.

What if we arrive late?

Groups MUST arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time. Games begin promptly at the designated start time. If you arrive after start time, you’ll need to reschedule to another date/time.

No, doors are never locked. If you need to leave, you can exit at any time.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled game time to use bathrooms, complete waivers, adjust reservation and have a brief overview of your adventure.

How long does an escape room take?

The games take 60 minutes but you will need a total of 90 minutes: 15 minutes for check-in and pregame briefing, 60 minutes of game time, 10 minutes for post-game review and photos.

Are your rooms wheelchair accessible?

The Cursed Tomb, The Antidote, The Stolen Diamond and Gates of Atlantis are wheelchair accessible, though some things in those rooms may be high for someone in a wheelchair. Assistance may be needed. The Legend of the Shoals has a door opening that may not accommodate a wheelchair. Our building has an elevator (entering from Vaughan Mall side). Our bathrooms are not accessible.

How many people can play?

The Stolen Diamond Room is designed for 2-6 adventurers. The Cursed Tomb is 2-8 players. The Antidote is 2-6 people. Legend of the Shoals is 2-6 people. A new room will be best for 2-5 people. We require a minimum booking of 2 people, and capacity may not be exceeded. For larger groups, we can book multiple rooms and coordinate start times.

What's the age limit?

The recommended age is 12 and up depending on experience with escape rooms. Children under 16 years old must have a paying adult present. Waivers are required for all participants. Participants under 18 need a waiver signed by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.

What does private room mean?

Private rooms are reservations made for just your party. In other words, there will not be strangers playing the escape room with you. At Monkey Mind Escape Rooms, all of our bookings are private.

If severe weather is predicted, we will be happy to reschedule your adventure. We try to remain open as long as electricity and internet are operational and staff can arrive/leave safely.
